Safe inspection starts before the crew steps on site.
Every scope starts with the asset, work environment, access constraints, applicable procedure, and site requirements. Crews align on hazards, controls, communication paths, and deliverables before work begins.
Certifications and site readiness are part of mobilization.
Our technicians mobilize with the required NDT qualifications, customer orientations, and operator qualifications for the job. Training and documentation keep people, procedures, and records aligned. See careers at SIS for how we bring people into the field.
Inspection discipline and safety discipline work together.
The same attention to procedure, traceability, and corrective action that makes a strong inspection report also makes for a safer job site: clear roles, documented findings, and prompt escalation when conditions change.
Every SIS employee has stop work authority. Anyone on our crew can halt the job when conditions change or a control fails, without needing permission and without consequence. Work resumes when the hazard is resolved.
Industrial radiography under a controlled program.
Radiographic testing is the highest-consequence work we do, and we run it under a formal radiation safety program led by a designated Radiation Safety Officer. SIS maintains the radioactive materials licensing and state reciprocity required for the jurisdictions we work in. Radiographers and assistants are certified and trained before they operate a source.
Every shot is planned. Crews establish, survey, and post restricted and high-radiation boundaries, and control access for the duration of the exposure. Personnel wear dosimetry with results reviewed against ALARA targets. Sources are secured, inventoried, and transported under DOT requirements.
